TECHNICAL BULLETIN
PLATED STEEL SELF-TAPPING FASTENERS

Type of Fastener
A, AB, B, Number 14 Diameter

Type of Material
Fasteners are to be made from a good quality cold heading wire of 1018 designation. Screws to be heat treated to a Rockwell Hardness of C-38 Minimum.

Type of Plating
X-Tend finish provides two layers of protection. The top seal is an effective barrier to the environmental elements present.  While the zinc layer affords a secondary layer for even further protection. These two layers work together to provide an exceptionally corrosion resistant coating.

Tool Selection
An electric screwgun with a variable speed of 0-2000 RPM is the suggested tool.

Recommend Usage
Type B to be used for sheet to structure. Type AB for sheet to light gauge purlins or laps. Type A lap only.

PERFORMANCE TESTS
